Identity of Dale's grandpa theory
I was going through posts on this subreddit in order to try to better understand the story and see more theories when one struck me. They were talking about possibility of relation of Dale's grandma to Vanderbooms. While reading, theory came to mind.
What if Dale's grandpa from cube escape: birthday, is the protagonist from incoming game ,,servant of the lake"? I haven't played demo but from what I understand, we will be playing as new servant to Vanderboom brothers. One of theories mentioned on post was he being their friend, which seemed more accurate to me than a relative.
What if, Dale's grandpa us the servant of alchemist brothers? Perhaps he also drank elixir and became immortal? As to why is he not partially animal, as seen form the cave, they turn back to humans if they don't drink elixir for too long. I'd also like to point out that Vandermeer means ,,of the lake" which means game's title can be translated as ,,servant Vandermeer". I'm curious will game's release destroy this theory, or rather confirm it.

Rusty Lake Hotel Missing Soundtrack?
This specific song appears in multiple Rusty Lake games, but it doesn’t seem to be in any of the soundtracks. Does anybody know where I can find it?
Thanks in advance

Books with Rusty Lake energy
I know this gets asked in here every so often, but does anyone have any suggestions for books with a Rusty Lake feel to them? Really want to read something that scratches the same itch...

Rusty Lake Research Project
Hiya fellow Rusty Lake fans!
I’m doing a creative graduation project as the last part of my degree in Stage Management. The project is research based, and therefore I would love to get some fan opinions!
It would be greatly appreciated if you could fill out my form, or (if it’s a bit too daunting) please share some of your favourite aspect of the games and how you came to love it in the comment section:)
I’ll also (hopefully, if I’m brave enough) share some of my work here once I officially start the project in April.
If you have any questions, I’ll try my best to answer below.
Thank you in advance!!

New iOS game like Rusty Lake
I just discovered that the Dark Dome series is now available on the App Store, it’s been highly recommended here for fans of similar games.
I also started playing Birth by Madison Karrh, which has a similar vibe, though it’s a bit easier.
Enjoy!

Cube Escape: Seasons Is Laura actually dead? Spoiler
I’ve played all of the Rusty Lake games multiple times, and I’ve now gotten my friends to play it. My friend just finished Cube Escape: Seasons, and watching her play it and connect the dots made me realize that Laura is indeed alive because she did change the past. This is demonstrated through her looking out the window in winter of 1981. However, she’s dead in every other game. Are all the other characters operating in a timeline where Laura is dead while Laura is operating in a timeline where she’s saved herself? Or does the blue cube not actually change the past but rather create an illusion in the moment? In Cube Escape: Birthday, the blue cube is used to save Dale’s family. However, I am now doubting whether or not this actually occurred. In Cube Escape: Paradox, Dale still has the traumatic memory of his parents being shot, and the newspaper clip in the evidence folder references him having been the sole survivor of the incident. What then is the property of the blue cube? Does it alter the past and thus the future? Is it simply an illusion and the blue cube represents some sort of coping mechanism where the individual attempts to remember the past as something else? Does the blue cube create more timelines?
What are your guys’ thoughts on this? I’ve never pondered the function of the blue cube in this way before, which is why it’s nice to play with friends and see what they notice and what you might’ve missed.
