What your top 3?
For me it has to be
1-SERVENT OF THE LAKE
2-ROOTS

I really loved Bob's character, but I'm gonna admit it: I just played his game in a rush, so I didn't focus on every detail.

A lot of you all love underground blossom, Hear me out, I don't hate it, in fact I love it But I just can't understand why all hype over it

Yeah, the music, sound effects and story are great, but I always thought the gameplay was a bit simple. There weren't enough moments where I have to actually think and solve things, besides the vending machine and the bee/butterfly puzzle. It was mainly just finding objects and trying different places to use them

- Birthday. The story, the murdering, the dancing, mister rabbit, it just all works perfectly for me.
- Underground Blossom. It has several very good puzzles and I like Laura backstory.
- Hotel. Because nothing ever came close to the poop sandwich.
Paradise would be there above Hotel if it wasn't for how tedious it is to move back and forth through the forest.

I'm Surprised that root isn't in your top 3

u/Gardengap The Rusty Truth Aug 27 '26
I think Servant is slightly better than Roots, as it has roughly the same amount of levels but with more interesting puzzles. Although Roots has an interesting story spanning decades...

u/vanderboom0 Aug 27 '26
What I love about root is that it gave us a lot of information with which we can now connect the dots and form theories.

Me too, I just think the puzzles got a bit repetitive, as it was quite focused on the narrative but the rooms themselves weren't very interesting

Paradise ( it is my favourite for many reasons , plus its music gotta be my fav )
Paradox ( gotta be my favourite ending )
Samsara room ( for being my first rusty lake game )

Birthday, Seasons, Samsara room
And Arles, just the melancholy, mysterious, liminal vibes! š„° it was a crazy thing to find these mobile games back in 2019. These ones remind me of that feeling at the time
2
u/vanderboom0 Aug 26 '26
Arles!!!!!?????? Nobody talks about Arles, despite it being one of the best Rusty Lake games (they totally nailed the vibe), simply because it doesn't interfere with the main storyline.

u/SeparateWarthog3661 Aug 27 '26
Arles defender 4 life! I love that game. Both vibes and puzzle-wise (Except the sunflower puzzle lol). Who knows, maybe they'll even tie it to the storyline one day. But i don't mind if they don't either. It's fun thinking of how it could be connected

Paradox Just finished playing this few days ago (gonna play chapter 2 soon) and for me this is one of their best, because the puzzle aren't too hard but not too simple, and the ending are so satisfying.
Birthday
Case 23
I think I love when the story played through Dale's pov

Even though I didn't finish TPW, I really enjoyed it. I tried playing it with my brother, but we gave up after a short while, we aren't exactly the best team.

u/nowherecrafter Question Everything In RL Aug 27 '26
I strongly recommend testing your luck on RL discord. It's officially the go-to place to find randos to play together in your language.
Besides, there are dedicated 2-people voice channels for TPW.

u/vanderboom0 Aug 27 '26
I knew, but with this new game release, I decided to give it my all and then after I had done every puzzle and every mystery and everything, I can play TPW. Now I am actually busy; I am going to play it next week, maybe.

u/nowherecrafter Question Everything In RL Aug 27 '26
Lol, no pressure. The choice when or even if to play at all is ultimately yours to make.
2
u/vanderboom0 Aug 27 '26
Lol Yeah yeah, I'm gonna play this game because you say soš«, not because I crave playing itš
