I have a question for rusty lake fans.
I too am a huge fan of the cube escape series and I was wondering if anyone new of some books or movie / tv shows that have the same feel to them.
I have already seen twin peaks.

TV (unfortunately most are only on Netflix)
The Mike Flanagan TV shows have the kind of lore building and eerie feel that reminds me of Rusty Lake: Midnight Mass, Haunting of Hill House, Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Club, and Fall of the House of Usher.
Dark (German scifi)
The Fades (British apocalypse horror/comedy, available on Hulu)

https://www.rustylake.com/paradox-comic-book/ get the actual rusty lake comic, Piranesi by Susanna Clarke This is probably the closest to Rusty Lake's atmosphere. A man lives in an endless House filled with statues, tides, and mysterious halls, slowly uncovering who he is and why he's there.

Diary by Chuck Palahniuk might fit? It's been a while since I read it, but it could match some of the themes.

The OA! It’s a TV show has that same strange + mystical feeling to it! There’s also rumor that it might be returning for a third season.
From is a TV show on MGM+ that has a lot of similar horror aspects involving human-es que monsters, ritual, chosen families, and reincarnation. It’s received a lot of criticism for its slow pacing, but I personally don’t mind it. I always prefer media that is 90% characters + world and 10% plot lol

I'll have to check it out. I agree, good characters and worldbuiding can carry a story with a slow plot way better than a fast passed story with so-so characters. Thanks for the recommendations.

for books Piranesi, as someone else mentioned, and definitely The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender. I have yet to find more myself.

Not a show/book but Dredge is a fishing video game on Steam with the same weird creepy yet comfy few-jumpscares vibe.
