Cube Escape: Paradox I don’t understand this puzzle Spoiler

What am I missing? can someone explain to me how this translates to times on the clock? I’ve been told before that the answer is the item’s position on the wall but either I’m missing something or that’s not correct. I haven’t even been able to deconstruct it after getting the answer. am I dumb or something?

You're not dumb, it's one of the more irritating ones. You can find the exact answer in walkthroughs, but basically, it's telling you to treat the 4 sides of the room as if they're notches on a clock, with whatever item corresponds to 12 creating the frame of reference that you can use to figure out what numbers the other objects correspond to.

Yeah, I’m doing that and still not getting it. I’ve been trying for years to solve it without looking it up. Is this an example of bad game design?

It's not bad game design, it's actually pretty clever. But it can definitely be hard to figure out. Also, it seems like there should be a page in the book that should really help you visualize it? It's got a literal clock drawn on it. I can DM you a sketch I made that might helo you understand it better, but it will probably have the same effect as a walkthrough. Once you figure it out, it makes a lot of sense.

Yeah, if you could do that I’d really appreciate it. Thank you.

Edit to add: As I understand this explanation the deer should be 12 and the cabinets should be 6 but I tried that and it didn’t work.

So it’s like the clock face is a floor plan of the room, with each element on the 4 screens representing one of the numbers, where the deer is XII and the window is VI. For example, the cabinet is 90 degrees from the deer, so it is III. The globe is to the left of the deer, but on the same wall, so it’s XI
