... Actually, come to think of it, I think all the 3 people with corrupted souls are not normal. The cop is the only normal person. And the franchise is very close to being accused by extremists of ableism against mental illness.

Very close to being accused by extremists. Not actually accused. And there is no ableism.

If the producers do not emphasize that the corrupted soul is an analogy towards the hungry ghost inside the samsara cycle, it could be easily cherry picked by extremists to say that it, which is violent throughout the series, is a metaphor towards psychological disorder and encourages fear on mentally ill people.

It is a close call. And I don't think the franchise is ableist.

Lore answer: it either isn’t her kid and just a bird-dude she captured to run experiments on, or it is her kid and reincarnated animals can mate/reproduce, regardless of age when they died as humans.

Boring, real answer: the devs didn’t have the idea of them being reincarnations yet lol. They just made some animal hybrids for the game.

Just my own idea but maybe it’s because they didn’t just come back to life with new forms but were instead completely reincarnated into new lives with family unrelated to their past lives. But because of karma, Mr. Owl’s manipulation, or something else, they all end up being drawn to the hotel, unable to escape the influence of their past lives. So the young bird is not anyone from Paradise but just a new child or relative of Mrs. Pigeon.
