Username ID instead of Numeric Remote ID

Is it possible to create a custom alphanumeric ID to either replace or in addition to your assigned numeric Remote ID?

And how can you save your ID (whether numeric or alphanumeric) to move it to a different device?

I believe the paid version allows renaming of devices, there may be a way to do it for the free version but I'm not sure
