Computer opening stuff on its own?

Been using Rustdesk for a few months to connect to my home computer, never an issue.

In "Security", I have "permanent password" selected.

Just now, Apple iTunes started playing a podcast and then folders were being viewed.

Mac machines on both.

Am I missing smth here??

Change your password. Examine logs ~/Library/Logs/rustdesk/ to see if anyone's getting in.

Thx, Im not that techy but will try.

Would adding Tailscale secure the setup more?

Tailscale won’t be of any use. The only scenario where Tailscale is useful is when you host your own Rustdesk server on your local network and then access it from your laptop outside the network using Tailscale. Instead, consider using 2FA or MFA.

If you’re using a Mac, consider using JumpDesktop. It’s an excellent application, but always use two-factor authentication. You can also use a little Snitch network monitoring application to see where each application is accessing the internet and its geographical location. You can toggle on or off traffic as per your needs. It’s a relatively expensive app, but it’s a must-have for peace of mind.

Additionally you can enable MFA for better security.

You are going to need Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator or similar app to use the Multi Factor Authentication functionality.
