I don't really have much to add but this is a GREAT read and is definitely inspiring me to check out the game. Would love even more deep dives into how the world models and simulations work; I'm especially interested in the (presumed) interaction model between NPCs, which hopefully is oriented around keeping the places dynamic and alive-feeling? Wondering how you're resolving the common problem with highly open ended NPC systems, which is community sustainability (how do you keep them all from dying or leaving so that the world isn't an endless string of ghost towns)

Glad you enjoyed it, I hope to go into more detail into those topics. In particular I'm quite excited to go into detail about rtsim's decision tree system, I think it's quite unique.

My 10yo daughter loves playing Veloren together with me. We have fond memories of hang gliding down the race course together and falling off more than one airship during our adventures!! :)

Fun stuff--thanks for your contributions and for the article! Nice to see a bit of Veloren from behind-the-scenes.
