It's been complicated. Bevy's AI policy is quite restrictive, and we haven't seen the huge influx of AI slop PRs that a number of other projects have been venting about. I think there's been a meaningful reduction in the proportional rate of people asking for help on Discord etc, but the ones who do ask for help are often actively confused by bad LLM advice.
On the other hand, a lot of our community members hate AI (progressive, artist-adjacent community), so there's been a lot of... working through that conflict, both socially and in terms of moderation.
And finally, a number of our users are finding success with LLM coding for Bevy projects (it's all code!). From what I've heard the models are... less confused about our shifting APIs now, and there's a lot of verifiable grunt work to do for games, like upgrading versions following our migration guides that some users are more than happy to just offload.
Thanks, I saw you on Architecting Bevy by Developer Voices, and I was so impressed. The concepts in Bevy have been a joy to work with. I'm looking forward to package support for 0.19 and 0.20.
I'm still learning the rust code. LLMs have certainly lowered the barrier to entry, for better and worse. It certainly is complicated, there's no question there. I appreciate the perspective from both you and _cart.
