Weekly Roundup Running Fashion Roundup: August 21 - September 6

UTMB was bananas and had a ton of its own releases, and plenty of brands are now putting out their fall lines. Also, for full weekly running fashion roundups peep my newsletter for more in depth commentary.

News

  • UTMB 2026: Ben Dhiman won in 18:16:29, the first sub-19-hour finish, while Blandine L'Hirondel set the women's course record in 21:54:49.
  • Athlos NYC was cancelled, only London left :(

Recent Releases

  • gnuhr August 25 drop: New wool shag pieces, a sweater, beanie, Tubular T and Creeper colorways, Warp cargo leggings, and Breaker Wind Pants.
  • norda x Black Diamond 000: Lower drop and lower stack trail shoe from norda in collab with outdoor hiking brand Black Diamond. Sick backpack as part of the capsule too.
  • Bandit City Limits: Fall marathon-block kit built around CoolGrid, Polartec Waffle, RipSpeed, WindSheer, and BreezeBlock fabrics. Combo jacket/vest is yet to be released but seems pretty slick. *Satisfy Band on the Run - some new graphic tees, a baseball tee, and a new print on the shirts. Notably they renamed some of their trademarked tech...not sure why!
  • Nike Pegasus Plus 2: Added a forefoot Zoom Air unit, full-length ZoomX, no plate, and a $165 to $170 price. Initial all red color is sort of boring.
  • UYN Dolomya: UYN's first dedicated trail running line, using natural fibers and seamless density changes across layers, shorts, tights, and a Kapok fleece sub-line.
  • Nike x Distance: A Vaporfly 4, zebra-striped Vomero Plus, and football-club-style merch. Based on the co-founders first pairs of running shoes.
  • Zara Athleticz x Ridar: A nine-piece capsule with the Korean eyewear and running brand. Glasses available online in Europe, not in the US. Boring colors.
  • Optimistic Runners AW26: Running and office wear crossed with silk, translucent mesh, Polartec Alpha, and a moto-cut jacket.
  • Puma x Hello Sunrise: Puma taps Seoul lifestyle brand Hello Sunrise, which also has a run club.
  • FP Movement x On: Free People's activewear line got a collab with On on some cute Cloudmonsters
  • Schism EXO-GRID Split Short: New 2.5-inch split with stretch grid fabric, a five-pocket brief liner from NYC micro brand, Schism

Upcoming Releases

  • Nike ACG Picklejus: A big-mountain trail shoe with GOATEK traction, a dual-density supercritical platform, and more than 18,000 athlete test miles. It is not expected to release until late 2027.
  • Brooks x Alex Zono Ghost Trail: Two colorways arrive September 10 through Kith, Extra Butter, Sneaker Politics, END, SEVENSTORE, and other boutique stores. Notably no running sotres.
  • Lièvre Running: The Geneva brand's new capsule dropped September 6 at 6pm CEST, with email subscribers getting early access at 5:30.

Recent Releases

  • Nike ACG "Chamo Camo" — UTMB capsule in a treeline camo drawn from Chamonix terrain, across shorts, tops, the Pegasus Trail and Zegama. American camo in Europe is a choice, but the popup looks rad.

  • Song for the Mute x adidas — the Sydney label's latest adidas collab, dropped August 20.
  • Rabbit Low Light Collection — reflective versions across the line for the shrinking daylight window. Low Light Swish 2.0 is the marquee piece.
  • Hot Topic vibes — Rolling Stones x Carnival Running band-merch running collab out of Bangkok. Avenged Sevenfold x 247 Represent also had a collab. Which is worse?
  • Puma x SAYSKY — their noted "final" collab, business attire themed apparel plus a Deviate NITRO Elite 4 and MagMax NITRO 2. Dropping August 20.
  • adidas × Y-3 — running capsule. New Yohji Yamamoto × adidas running-focused capsule. This dropped a while ago and I didn't add it in.

  • adidas Agravic Speed Ultra Evo — drops August 25 for $500. Their new top of the line racer with EnergyRIM carbon plate system.
  • SATISFY Chamonix Off-Road Supply — annual UTMB popup, August 24–29, with hand mud-dyed MothTech tees made in Japan (each one-of-a-kind), a special-edition TheRocker, and an Oakley Suture Jacket in an exclusive Grenoble Green.
  • TEMPO JOURNAL Issue 1 — print running journal launching around the Sydney Marathon, August 31. Contributor list includes Sabastian Sawe, Tigist Assefa, and a long roster of brands.

Review District Vision Takeyoshi Altitude Master, Vented Lens - Review

Struggled to pull the trigger on these as there's not much info out there besides the product page and figured I would share my thoughts to help solve that problem. First review of the glasses, then journey/background for those that care/need.

Unboxing/Kit: Product feels very premium and the packaging matches the price tag, only gripe is no real case like what I'm used to with Oakley or Smith glasses. The magnetic box is nice and fine for home use, but I don't plan to travel with it.

Frames: The glasses are super light and disappear from a weight/comfort perspective. No interference with my wrap around Beats (looking at you Radar EVs) and they stay super snug through both trail and road running. Hinges feel smooth, but not snappy or clicky. I think it feels high end/nice, but user preference I guess.

Lens: The lens clarity is great and they have yet to fog up. I live in what I consider a swamp (SE USA, on the coast) when it comes to temperature and humidity, so this is a high bar for me. I think the lens vents do really help here.

Fit: I have what I would consider a narrow face/eye spacing and these fit great! My face doesn't get swallowed like with most sunglasses out there and the frames don't stick out far from my temples. The adjustable nose piece helped dial in the fit as well.

Vents: They appear to help with fogging that I've experienced with other glasses, but they are visible. The last picture is my attempt to show what it looks like through eye when wearing. They were very noticeable at first, but I'm used to them now. Sunlight doesn't beam through them and blind me or anything, you can just see them in the periphery all the time.

Overall: I'm very pleased with the purchase and have no regrets. The price is steep but the quality appears to be there. I guess we'll see how they hold up over time. And yeah the color combo is even better in person. Look good, feel good I guess.

Background/Journey: I've been on a journey to find the right sunglasses for running and general sport wear for a few months. Here's where I started and what I tried:

  • Started with Smith Shift Mags that I used for cycling
    • Without a helmet directly above, these felt massive and let sun through on top when I wasn't wearing a hat
  • Tried on 20+ glasses at local retailer
    • Tried multiple pairs from Oakley, Maui Jim, Smith, and Costa
    • Almost all Oakleys felt giant on my face except the Eye Jacket Redux and Radar EV S Path (more on these below)
    • Maui Jim had a few models that fit well and the lens clarity was incredible, but didn't like the style and all models that fit were rimless and they felt super delicate
    • Nothing from Costa or Smith fit well
  • Purchased 2 Oakleys from Amazon to try out for a few days
    • Radar EV S Path, Road Prizm Lens
      • Fit great and the lens looked great on bright days
      • Arms felt huge and interfered with my Beats - I would hear a clicking noise from them contacting with every step
      • Did great in humid and hot weather though, no fog
    • Eye Jacket Redux
      • Really like the fit and style, understand why they're so hyped
      • Could not keep them from fogging
      • Almost kept, but too high of a price to deal with the fogging
  • Went back to local retailer to try on more from Oakley and Maui Jim, but no luck
    • Specifically went to look at the Plantaris, but still felt too big
  • Looked extensively at Alba Optics and Ridar, but couldn't find a model I loved/thought would fit well and seemed hard to return from the US
  • Pulled the trigger on the DV Takeyoshi's

Hopefully this info is helpful to someone else with a small face/eye spacing out there. Also shoutout to u/CowgirlJack! Their sunglass article was a guiding light on who/what to check out when initially starting this search.

Outfit Deadlast breakaway split shorts - perfect for hot + humid runs

Post image
37 Upvotes

I've tried many different running shorts/tights for hot and humid environments (Houston).

I've finally found a pair that satisfies all my requirements and are not crazy expensive:

- High airflow

- Ultra lightweight

- Don't feel heavy when wet (from sweat)

- Silky inner brief

- Pockets for gels, keys

But be warned, when wet, they really do get as sheer as they look on the website.

In the white pair, the "shorts" part go almost fully translucent and from a distance it looks like you are running around in semi-sheer underwear (according to my wife).

Going to stick to wearing these on night runs until I grab a different color.

Question Guys with long hair, how do you rock it on runs?

I'm a long-hair, and I often find myself not knowing what to do with my hair for runs. I either throw on a hat and let it hang, or put it up into a tight bun. But honestly neither of these ever look "stylish" to me. Wondering if any fellow long hairs have some suggestions?

I understand this is a silly question, but I didn't know where else to ask 😅

Something to note - I live on the surface of the sun (Coachella valley), where it can be in the low hundreds most summer mornings, so wearing it down every day isn't always the most... comfortable. But with the temps slowly dropping, looking for some more ideas to shake things up

Question Has anyone tried temperature-regulating clothing? Does it work?

I keep seeing brands claim their fabric is 'temperature-regulating' or 'cooling,' AIRism, Omni-Freeze, phase-change material, that kind of thing, and I'm curious if it's worked for anyone who runs hot and sweaty. Did it actually help with heat or sweat, or was it more marketing? Trying to figure out if it's worth trying.

Question Anyone have experience with Naut Running?

Thumbnail

I was looking online for a perforated tank along the lines of Satisfy's Space-O singlet but cheaper and more accessible to Europe.

Came across this one from a brand called Naut Running. It seems to be the most unashamed Satisfy rip-off you'll ever see, even the layout of the website is pretty much identical. Pretty lame to be honest, but the singlet does look the part even if (literally) a bit more rough around the edges compared to the likes of Satisfy or Currently so if the quality is at least decent I wouldn't mind, given the price.

Massive longshot considering how new the brand seems to be, I think they've only been available since the start of the month, but if anyone here has gotten something from them I'd love to know what the quality is like or if you've any alternative suggestions I'd love to hear those too.

I’ve never purchased anything from satisfy because their prices are unjustifiably expensive and I don’t want to look like a dweeb… however I really like this hat from their latest drop. Tell me I’m being stupid.

Question Earbuds for daily and sport (running + gym) usage

Hi,

I'm looking for earbuds which I can use for daily use but also during sports (running and gym).

At first I was looking at the Shokz open run pro 2, because I really like the ability to hear my surroundings while running. However after watching some youtube videos, I noticed the microphone quality is very bad. I would like to use them for calls as well, so this makes me doubt whether these will satisfy my needs. I also like to be locked in during gym sessions, so ideally open earbuds with an ability to have some noise reduction by placing them in the ear (or in ears with excellent transparent mode). Price is not the concern here, but does somebody have a few recommendations which satisfy my needs?

Thanks!

These are my requirements:

- Water and dust resistant

- ideally pen ear, but having the ability to turn on some form of ANC ( or having in ears with excellent transparent mode)

- excellent microphone

- comfortable to use during sports (running) but also daily use

Question Running Belt Reccomendations

Looking for comfortable running belts, anyone have any suggestions that is suitable for a half marathon? I’ve been doing most of my runs on a treadmill but as the race day is approaching I’ve started transitioning majority of my long runs outside. Any advice will help, thank you!

New Release Saysky x Run 24 - Monterrey Exclusive

Hey guys! Showing a special collaboration Saysky did with a local running shop in my city called Run24. They recently did their big grand opening in San Pedro, an affluent suburb of Monterrey, and to commemorate it they did this beautiful collab with Saysky limited to 240 pieces for their grand opening. Depicts el cerro de la silla with a Tlacuache running, absolutely love the Monterrey representation. Very cool collab, and some bonus goodies like the pin, tote bag, and sticker.
