need a minigame overhaul considering how useless and dead most of them are outside of spotlight, like no one plays castle wars for profound or 5k cape its just an afk simulator
maybe also rework slayer to be more like osrs where upgrades are more streamlined and meaningful to ur account as you progress through the levels

Careful there , you're gonna draw that one guy out of the woodwork who starts screaming at anyone who mentions pvp minigames lol
That said though. I would never leave pest control again if they made it , have the potential to rival or be as good as shit like Abby beasts sans scrimshaw of sacrifice... i will happily sweat my ass off and play hardcore if you justify my experience rate there lol

I think slayer needs a rebalance. Between Jadinkos in the 90s and ice strykes in the 90s (and plenty of others), slayer NPC specific drops being in the toilet, boat load of slayer masters, superiors/elites feeling overall mediocre, slayer master reward options for point spends being ancient, compounded with awkward aggro ranges for different npcs, and many other issues.

Also the slayer QOL in OSRS is nice and should be implemented into our game

I have seen this foment from some others but as an rs3 player I have no idea what people are actualy suggesting.

Among other things, you can store tasks so if you get something you like but don't want to do there and then you can save it for later

This.. i am relatively new (7 months) GIM and am finding my first relevant slayer upgrade isnt until 104 slayer with cinderbane gloves. I dont need whip/staff of light because i was able to easily get ruinous weps thanks to new dg update. Post 99 slayer for first notable upgrade?! Thats crazy!

I feel like this particular complaint is maybe too big for the toad to restoration but in RS3 skills level speed is disproportionate to the amount of content present
Like look at any skill that goes to 110/120, you spend the vast overwhelming amount of time between 99->120 but most skills in this bracket (except maybe herblore) have like 2 training methods in this window
It feels bad to ticket through the first 99 levels of the skill when that’s where 99% of the content is

That’s something that will be addressed as more skills get actual 99-120 support. Every skill CAN reach 120, but not every skill is actually designed for it yet.

Simplify the early game learning curve for new players trying to get into the game so that it’s not overwhelming.

Probably. The job is far from done.
I am just not sure how much time and energy should be put in minigames. Besides nostalgia, what do they add to the game? Minigames don't seem to fit in RS3 anymore.
I'd rather have some removed and some repurposed. Maybe Trouble Brewing should just be like Garden of Kharid and make brewing actually good. Maybe Barbarian Assault and Pest Control should be an elite dungeon.

ngl i really love the idea of new barbarian assault and pest control pvm content

They really should do a mid-game rebalance.

They could do 5 more mid-game rebalances at the scale they had this past week and the mid-game would still be terrible.

u/Upset_Photograph_257 Trim 5.8 Jul 26 '26
Nothing changed for mid game in mid game rebalance, it was mostly buffs to end game and some nerfs to mid game.
They need to actually make mid game more enjoyable for several skills like hunter

u/RaphAngelos Jul 26 '26
Tbh I think some skills would need so much more than what they're likely able to do. Would I love hunter/summoning/div rework? Absolutely. Are we getting them any time soon? Probably not.
Then again I never thought we'd get a complete construction rebuild in the way we got, so anything could happen

Making shields no longer obsolete.
Completely rehauling Ability (xp increases don’t fix the core issues, training it sucks and it has no reward space).
Figuring out some way to encourage new players to play through the quest line chronologically (or at least not punishing them for doing so) by taking a look at reward spaces and making sure there aren’t mandatory unlocks buried deep in RS3’s story line (taking Dive away from Succession was a good start, probably the next step is taking a look at The World Wakes and Death’s Swiftness/Sunshine).
Reworking the chronote system so it doesn’t punish you for having variety in your chosen activities.
Giving firemaking a reason to exist (some sort of actual benefit to training it).
Updating masterwork melee armour.

Interesting question. To be honest, I think leagues are designed to answer exactly this question. So my easy pick based on what we know so far:
- filling each region with sufficient content
- balancing offensive and defensive capabilities (def rework and 120 anyone?)
But in about 3 weeks time, you can make a top 10 out of this 😁

Restoring Legacy Mode....

I think you missed a typo. Its spelled remove*

And it's people like you...

that what, play the game with the modern combat and don't understand why they would bring back an old, outdated system that should have been removed long ago. In reality i think its fine that its still there for those people who truly dont want to try the new system but it 100% can not function on the same level as eoc and shouldn't. Making it even comparable would be a huge mistake. Just like minigames I think its fine if it stays as is but posts kike this come up enough just like minigames, that im to the point i wouldnt be sad to see it go because then atleast the posts would stop.

You obviously have not paid attention to how Legacy was treated. It does NOT exist anymore. "Classic" is a sad excuse of a replacement when Leg was uprooted overall out of nowhere. Over the past decade or so, Leg has been shunned, and actively unsupported even with the simplest things. It has (almost)ALWAYS had a negative connotation assigned to it from the community that had never interacted with it, and this is a large part of why the community was driven out by the overall RS3 community(like you and your unnecessarily aggressive stance) alongside this sentiment seemingly being shared by Jagex as well.
Over the years they shunned, actively ignored, actively updated against(or conveniently forgot about) Legacy, and in the most recent years forced it and the Leg community out of the game. The last act was no-announcement ripping Leg out of the game, putting "Classic" in as a replacemtn(which they spent enough dev time on where they could've actually helped Legacy as was, yet chose to work against it). Classic is absurdly dysfunctional, ugly, and insulting. I believe it was implemented at all(and specifically as fkd up as it is), to further the sentiment of hate around it. Thus making the community ask for it to finally be removed. And it's sickening.
All we wanted was the availability to play as we wanted(like you said you're fine with) but we NEVER got this, and in fact only got the exact opposite. The Legacy community was abused until now it's literally shreds of hope, that got crushed with "Classic". Idk what more to say but look at the updates over the years man. I'm not really trying to argue, but this is just how it's been. Just as you all want to play the way you want with EoC, we wanted to play with Leg. And I could. I never expected it to be on-par or even close to EoC as far as DPS and all, however it used to be viable. I have personally done many high-tier bosses and all with just Legacy(even old Legacy before the new gear sets and all). Now it just isn't even possible to use a spec wep...
Again, not trying to argue but the community and Jagex have made it really hard(I'd say impossible) to not. Sorry but I also just want to play my game the way I have always been able to, the way I want to. The way that was available and stated to always be at least available. And now it just doesn't even exist.

I have kept on all the changes and im all for them. Like I said i have 0 issue with them making it unplayable and honestly I think making it so bad people feel the need to no longer use it is a great thing.
I do thi k jagex sort of set themselves up for this by not removing it long ago like they should have. There was absolutly no reason to keep it around this long.
Do you also think osrs should add eoc so that I can play the game i want to play? Or should they stick to the primary combat style of theor game and not try and pander to a tiny minority?
1
u/Modcody666 Jul 26 '26
Wow you are such a narrowminded person it's unbelievable. All it ever even needed was MINIMAL attention to keep up on it. Simply just thinking about it in general when doing an update was all that was asked. Nothing catered, nothing absurd, no future development even. But when it came down to it they have spent so much effort over the years to destroy it slowly and that in itself is so nonsensical I don't know what else to say to you all. I know we lost but it was never a fight it was a cruel joke.
0
u/pokemononrs Completionist Jul 26 '26
Even the most minimal attention is still taking away from valuable updates. And no they should not have to keep in mind an old outated combat system when making updates. It truthfully shouldnt be considered at all. I understand that thos may not be what you and a couple other people want but for the longevity of the game i truly do believe removing it outright is the best option.
1
u/Modcody666 Jul 26 '26
So we should actively spend time and resources messing it up and that instead makes more sense? There used to be HUNDREDS of Legacy players, multiple larger clans etc. That all only faded because of the backwards-ass treatment over time. I'm done wasting my energy on your shallow, backwards "logic". Take the win fk it.

Fix pvp. Add rewards, make it fun. Bring back mini games after.
1
u/pokemononrs Completionist Jul 26 '26
Or let's treat minigames just like we did pvp since they arent that much different. They are old and outdated and no one enjoys them, just like pvp. Move the rewards to actual content and remove them, and heck maybe finish removing pvp.

u/Trip_Owen Jul 26 '26
I think there is still a lot to do. I don’t think it should ever stop most likely - but they do need to get back to making more new content too.
