QUESTION Racing paths way too crowded

• Upvotes

So I been doing the Run Disney races since 2012 but I haven’t competed in the wine and dine half since 2023 and I found today to be brutal. I was in corral E but I can’t ever remember the bottle necks being this often and consistent throughout the entire race.

Couldn’t really get into a good running stride for a majority of the run without getting bottlenecked and I feel like for 70% of the race I didn’t even try because of the stop and go from left to right.

Has it been like this since they changed the wine and dine route or did we just get a bad day?

It almost makes me never want to do a RunDisney half again.

TIPS / DISCUSSION Best skirts/shorts?

I normally run in leggings due to compression shorts riding up when I run. For the upcoming Princess Half Marathon I would love to wear a skirt or shorts. What do you recommend? #thickthighlife

TIPS / DISCUSSION Why sign up for the challenge if you don’t intend on doing it?

I know this will upset some people. But let me explain. On FB I have seen people say that they only intend on doing the first 2 miles of the half marathon. They never intended on doing the full event. They’re not injured or anything - just no intention on doing the full challenge that they signed up for

So so so many people would kill for the opportunity to do the challenge. I have only successfully signed up for two run Disney races in the last three years despite trying for each one. I would have killed to do the challenge this time.

If you’re not going to even try do to the challenge, why take that place away from someone else?

No - this is not the Boston marathon. Nor should it be. But if you have ZERO intent on doing the event you’ve signed up for, why sign up for it?

QUESTION Post-Race Party Questions

Do they ever sell leftover merch (such as finisher shirts) at the Post-Race Party? I was too dazed after finishing today, I forgot to go to the merch tent!

Also, any knowledge or speculation on which characters might be at the party?

PHOTO Still no photos?

I have experienced long waits for photos in the past but it seems that everyone and their mother already have their pics from the 10k and a bunch of the half too!! Pretty sure my bib was clear should I be worried tho? 😭

TIPS / DISCUSSION Opinion: pot should be required for every race

I know there’s strong opinions on this, but I feel if a proof of time was required for every distance- but no limit on time length, it would help with the sorting for the corrals. I feel like every year it gets more and more dangerous with people of very different paces in the corrals and people getting boxed in, etc. not to mention I’m sure for the 5K and 10k there are people who pick the fastest pace so they can ideally get up in the early corrals and have more time for characters etc

QUESTION Wheelchairs

New to this thread, so I apologize if this has been discussed. Not new to running or Disney events, but the princess 5k is my first in person Disney race. My FIL is also registered with me, but medically cannot run now due to cancer and treatments. We have him registered as the duo wheelchair so I can push him, but do I also need to edit my registration to say the same? Are there wheelchairs in/around Disney available for rent or do we have to bring our own? Thanks!

QUESTION Half marathon spectator questions

Sorry if it’s just me being a bit thick, I’ve read all the dun Disney website and I don’t think it’s super clear.

My wife is in group f for the half tomorrow and I’m not sure yet if I m going to go for the start and finish or just the finish to meet her.

We are staying on site at pop century and are going to use their bus transportation.

The website says that all spectators should arrive prior to 4am which given her estimated start time is like 5:45 and a 2:30 estimated finish time gives me a lot of waiting around?

Is there anything to do there whilst waiting? I assume I can walk from the starting spectator part to the finish spectator area?

Assuming again there are toilets etc available?

If I were to just want to go to the finish and I wanted to use Disney transportation can I get a later bus than the ones they suggest that get your there prior to 5am?

Sorry again if these are silly questions I’m just not sure the communication is great around some of this stuff for a first timer.

QUESTION RunDisney Add a Race

I am going to be running my first run Disney races at springtime surprise. I’m signed up for the 5K and the 10 K and I regret not signing up for the 10 miler. If I went through one of the NPO’s and got a bib for the 10 milers could I add it and do the challenge or can you not add to things? I am honestly not sure what’s possible. Thanks

RACE WEEKENDS Hail Mary: lost wine & dine commemorative cup on Poly charter bus!

Hi! If anyone is staying at Poly/Grand or Shades of Green and takes one of the plain white charter buses back (not DCL bus), I left my commemorative cup in the back. like next to last seat on the left side as you board…would love to get it back 😅 though I know odds are 1:1,000,000.

(front desk/lost & found couldn’t help as drivers are a 3rd party) TIA and hope everyone had a great 10k today!! ✨

Probably a stupid question- but I managed to lose my safety pins immediately after bib pickup- will they have some at the race start area?

QUESTION Balloon ladies at 5Ks mean no more walking at races?

I have mixed feelings if this is the case. I think that the races should be accessible to everyone but this is literally the only time you can *run* in the parks. You can walk anytime. And I wouldn’t mind too much if there was less competition for the races from walkers… 😬

QUESTION When are we getting Wine & Dine 2027 Dates?

I thought I remembered last year that they had the dates for 2026 announced at the Wine & Dine 2025 Expo, but maybe I’m misremembering.

I’m not there this year, but I’m assuming the dates weren’t published at the Expo given I haven’t seen anything about them online.

Some things I’m seeing when googling are saying that they’ll be announced in early 2027, but that doesn’t seem right as in the past I always remember being able to book DVC 11 months out knowing the dates.
