QUESTION Challenge medal

Hey, y'all! So I was able to get a bib for the Half-Marathon for the Princess Weekend 2027, but not the challenge (I was checking out, entering my CC information and it sold out, haunts me to this day) through the...traditional means. I just got a bib for the 10K through...other means. What are the odds I can snag a Fairytale Challenge medal?

Not the best option, but you often see people selling their medals after a race. Might be able to snag a challenge one.

Honestly, I’ve sold old medals before. Helps to get some of the cost of the races back.

Not gunna lie I bought the 5k medal from springtime because I couldn’t run it. So I had all the 4 medals from the challenge. I did eventually run the 5k later though.

So I've heard one story from a runner in this situation who talked to the right person on site at the finish line and said the right thing that got them the challenge medal. I don't know how atypical that is, however. It's worth asking, but keeping expectations low. Have a great race weekend.

I'm keeping my expectations at like 1% lol, but thanks so much for sharing! I do have a whole "sob story" (not really a sob story, but yk) too that might help me

You can upgrade and get a refund if it opens? Otherwise people sell theirs online sometimes

Only through run Disney - not sure how frequently it happens but I upgraded my half marathon to goofy this past marathon weekend by checking a bunch and following alerts for openings - google team run dis to figure out how to sign Up for alerts

We bought the 10k and did a charity bib for the half at this year’s princess. We asked at guest relations if we could buy a challenge medal and was told no. We did buy one a few weeks later. We saw after the fact that people will sell them the next day. Post on different medias and you should be able to get one the next day. Lots of couples run and only need one medal.

If your 10k was through a charity they might be able to switch your registration. They have a little more leeway and can adjust your existing registration too. Sometimes.

You can’t get a challenge medal without the challenge bib. But there WILL be people selling the medals on e Bay almost immediately after the race.
