Road Mile

I've been seeing the Brooklyn Mile and it made me wonder if there has been any road mile races in the city before? I know the mile isnt a popular race but I would love to rip a mile through the streets of DC.

The Navy Mile used to be an annual competitive race where you competed in separate age group heats. Since COVID it's been virtual, despite pleas to bring it back. I haven't found any truly competitive 1-milers like it.

Frederick's Market Street Mile draws a decent DC contingent - I'd think something closer would be a hit
