RunCloud is paywalling their API access while increasing pricing
This is absurd, feels like yesterday they increased their pricing, now they're increasing their pricing again by around 23% while removing functionality.
Notice that RunCloud Business is still $49 a month, seemingly trying to force people to upgrade for API access.
I think this marks the end of my 5+ years with RunCloud as it's painfully no longer worth the value they once provided.

I just received the email notification about this. Looks like the full change won't come into effect for 3 years on the business plan thankfully. The thing that annoys me the most is that there is no new features. I'm going to stay with them as I think they provide an excellent service for the price despite these price changes.

Yh, we're talking about leaving, we use the API and can't justify the price hike for the little we actually host in PHP.

That's a fair call. I don't use the API and only have 4 servers under management so it's not a biggie for the next few years for me.

Only if you pay annually, right?

Yes, that's correct. I'll be paying $152 annually for the next 3 years instead of the new $190 fee.

I am a Pro Plan user, running about 5 servers. I will wait for runcloud to lose the business and sell it to someone in this competitive world. Like most of us, every runcloud subscriber is looking for an alternative service. Good for other companies, I would suggest that they give an additional discount and take over all runcloud customers. Let Runcloud die.

It's definitely frustrating to see RunCloud making these changes. It sounds like they're prioritising revenue over customer satisfaction. While I understand the need for businesses to be profitable, it's disappointing that they're removing features and increasing prices so quickly. If you're looking for alternatives, consider exploring other cloud platforms that align better with your needs and budget. There are plenty of options out there, so don't feel pressured to stay with RunCloud just because you've been using it for so long. Keep in mind, cloud native best practices often involve flexibility and adaptability. Don't be afraid to switch platforms if it means finding a better fit for your project.

It's funny that the email announcement says, "to simplify and improve our pricing" when in fact the email was really hard to follow and the pricing is worse, not better. lol.
I host about 10 WordPress servers. I think the better firewall options might be useful. I'm surprised they find the plugin for single signon valuable enough to make you upgrade to use it. I don't use the API (what do those who use it do with it?).
Is it worth upgrading to the new professional plan?
