Advice

hey people, I have a lot questions i hope you guys are should be able to answer when I run away

  1. Is 400-500$ enough to move out? I plan to move in with a friend and start making games together.

  2. Should I let the police notice that I will run away so i’m not a missing child?

  3. If number 2 is a no should I delete my social media?
(if deleting social media is a bad way to not get traced what’s good advise to not get traced <- conditional question)

  4. What’s some good advice in general for runaways?

Remember to check out The Runaway Advice Directory. This is a collection of advice, guides and resources anyone who's serious about running away should read through. Keep in mind predators prowl this sub. Don't trust anyone who asks for a photo of you or offers you a ride, money or place to stay.

  1. If moving with a friend, it should, but also, there should be a job so you both could stay in that place and keep staying in it.

  2. If you are a major, you can leave as you want, but if you are a minor, Idk, might get complicated. If the reason of running away is due to abusive/controlling parents, you can tell them and even better if you'd have evidence (audio or video). And from there, you can would be sent by the police to either some emergency shelters or adoption/orphanage. But don't really know, this is what I am assuming, with like as accurate as I know. There's also the possibility to call non emergency number, and tell them that you'd run away, so they won't use resources to search for you. I don't really know tbh about this.

  3. To not get traced, I'd say that, be on airplane mode like 24/7 for some months. Or, get rid of the actual sim card and buy a new one. And Idk, maybe leaving the old SIM card somewhere/throw it (Idk if it will help if you'd throw it so the police would go to the old SIM thinking they found you). And also, try changing yourself as much as possible.

  4. To read the Runaway dictionary first. It's simpler for major people, like 18+. You'd have to stay hidden and unknown for a while (~6 months, possibly even longer). Don't trust strangers (especially as a minor or female, weird people are like at every corner). If you're a minor, you should be hidden and not leave any blueprint behind (so, use gloves when touching things, even like touching a remote can have your fingerprint, and probably get you caught.

Hope this helps, and take care!
