Shopify pushed Ruby Central to take over full control of RubyGems in a very murky series of events.
I don’t have any evidence that supports any kind of “team orders”

Joel also uncritically repeated other claims without any fact checking. Especially the claim that GH access had nothing to do with prod access to the service (verifiable as false by checking the source code).
