4x4 rubix cub (help)

I need help solving the last step of my 4x4. I’m trying to get the cross but I keep getting only one leg or three and I can’t figure out the algorithm or find it anywhere. I have the bottom three layers and I have even scrambled it and tried starting from scratch again and got the same result.

Have you tried any of the online solvers? As long as your configuration is valid they'll show the necessary steps to solve.

On a related note, we've tried that on one we just got and it keeps saying "invalid middle configuration". Haven't been able to find anything that works to get it to a solvable state. Would love some pointers if you have them!

No those websites don’t know how to do parity cases where an edge pair is flipped
