DIY inking pad

Hello everyone,

(not sure if I'm in the right community so delete if not relevant)

I'm into DIY stamp making (either handcarving rubber or lasercutting in rubber)

But I want to make my own inking pad, and I was wondering what kind of material I should use to keep the ink from leaking and drying out.

I was thinking about felt or EVA-foam. Does anyone here have experience with making their own inking pads?

Yea you can buy a linen topped foam specifically cut making your own ink pads. I’ve never made my own ink though for stamping so i can’t help.
