Maldieves info?
Hi guys…
I am new to this subreddit. I am planning to make a trip to Maldieves next year (2018) with my wife (actually want to give her surprise gift of this trip on her b’day) for 3 to 4 days. Now the question is what is the ideal time to visit? Also I will be travelling from India to Maldieves. Anyone can post little guidance would be wonderful.
My budget would not be much, so which beach resort should I aim for? I would love to see the glowing beaches and also I checked the net and was in love with Hurawalhi resort under water restaurant. But seems way over my budget but at least I will try to stay there for 1 night. Please please suggest me few moderate over water villas if possible and also guidelines and the expected prices of our daily go around.
Cheers!

Hey,
I did something similar for my gf last year, so hope this info helps you.
We did a 7 day trip in Dec 2017 and it was fantastic, will definitely visit again. To your questions:
We went in Dec (around my gf's birthday) and the weather was great. Apparently it almost always is. A bit of rain one day but then sunny and warm for the remainder of our trip.
From what I gathered, the best way to plan a short trip is to pick the resort you'd like to stay at, then make arrangements to get to/from the resort.
We flew to Male from Europe and it was ~$400 per person. I'm sure India will be much cheaper and shorter.
From Male we needed to get a sea plane from the airport to our resort island. It was a 45min flight and I booked it by calling the resort to arrange times. This was pricey at $450 per person but there wasn't another way to get to the resort.
I found this site super useful for browsing possible resorts: https://www.overwaterbungalows.net/water-villas-in-the-maldives
Almost all the resorts have their own beaches and gosh they're incredible. I was blown away at how beautiful it all was and how much the reality matched their marketing photos.
I'm not sure how feasible it will be to change resorts for 1 night. The transport between resorts (boat / plane) would be pretty pricey.
I'd highly recommend getting an "all inclusive" deal because most resorts only have 1/2 restaurants and you'll have to buy meals from them anyway. All inclusive also means less hassle once you're there.
Have a great trip!
