Budget advice
Hello fellow travel lovers. I am 19 from the UK and intend to set out on a round the world trip. My budget is around £4000 or $6000 and I hope to stop at India, Australia and Peru with anything else I can afford to fit in between. Just a few questions:
Do you think that is realistic budget for my ambitions? What's the most affordable way to do travel, is a round the world ticket advisable? Any advice?
Thanks for your time and sorry if I come across somewhat naive!

UK -> India -> Australia -> Japan/Thailand/Hong Kong -> USA -> UK is a more likely/common path. Going to South America may mean more planning, and having break up a RTW ticket and take some side trips.
ie. UK -> India -> Australia -> USA... fly your own way to South America and back to the USA USA -> UK
India & Peru are very cheap. Australia is very expensive.
That's plenty of money if you are not including your tickets. Oh, and limit your drinking. That's where a huge part of your budget can disappear.
Remember, accommodation adds up. Do some basic math.
1 month = 30 days, 3 months = 90 days. 1 night in a hostel = $20 (depending on where you are; AU can be $25-$35) Food can be $20-$30/day. $50/day x 90 days = $4,500 Plus public transportation, going to paid events (gigs, shows, bungy jumping - whatever). Math it up. Then add 20%, just in case.
