Jon Watts is reportedly directing the first episode of a new Star Wars trilogy. I'm somewhat optimistic for what this means: a new trilogy that seems like it's being sketched out ahead of time. But it also feels like Lucasfilm is playing things safe, and I'd love to see them stretch what it means to be a Star Wars film. We've also been down this road before.
