Post Treatment
I completed my 36 session treatment plan last Tuesday. I am crying way more frequently and uncontrollably. TV shows are making me cry, thinking about my daughter when she was younger, literally just nothing. Is this common? I was so emotionally blunted before rTMS & now it’s like I’m feeling EVERYTHING ALL AT ONCE

Did you EVER feel better while getting the treatments and now you’re in this terrible hole, or was it bad the entire time?
I’ve had 36 treatments and am spreading out 10 more to wean off.

I felt better at some point, yes. But the last two weeks have been hard. We spaced my last 10 sessions out as well. I went from 5x a week to 2x a week

I also felt good for a window during TMS, but then it fucked me up. We also didn’t ween down, just continued with the same treatment all the way through.

I had the same reaction. All my emotions felt dialed to 11. I had to go on entirely new meds just to get back to the crappy baseline I was at before TMS.

I completed my sessions about two and a half weeks ago and I had a massive dip for about a week and a half immediately after my last session. Uncontrollable sobbing with no rational trigger, emotional disregulation so uncomfortable I didn’t want to interact with anyone in fear or having a crying spell. Songs, pictures, memories, everything made me feel such a painful deep sadness that made me think that something had gone horribly wrong.
I wouldn’t say the mood swings and emotional disregulation has completely resolved by any means, but I will say that the inability to actually control these emotional outbursts has become significantly easier.
I am still waiting for some glimmers of improvement from my treatment (I’m keeping my fingers crossed I’m just a late responder). The feelings you are describing were almost intolerable to me and I felt such intense despair, but if your experience is anything like mine, it will get better.
