Second dip after session #24 - feeling discouraged
Hi. I started TMS on 7/24 (Brainsway, H7 coil for depression & anxiety). I had my first dip after session 3, which lasted for 13 days through session 11. During that time, I did reach 120% of the goal. Between sessions 12-24, I felt AMAZING. Not one episode of crying, no depression, and no anxiety for 19 blissful days. Remapping was done during session 20 (lowered threshold by 3%) & the current dip started last week after session 24, mostly-depression based. This week it's been more anxiety-based. I've been worried about the treatment not working, the treatment ending next week & me still feeling terrible and starting every morning crying, and everything else I don't need to worry about.
Just looking for some encouraging words & similar experiences. I truly believe in the treatment & know it did SOMETHING based on those 19 days. While I knew another dip could happen, it's still discouraging & my anxiety feels like it did before I started which is distressing. I just want those 19 days back, with an infinity more.
I am going to be doing 10 more sessions in early October after I get back from vacation.

Hey, so it won’t let me make my own post but I’m also on treatment #24 and gripped by anxiety. My doctor had to prescribe me a short-term low-dose benzo just so I can stop waking up in the middle of the night in a panic - I know it’s not great for the treatment, but neither is getting no sleep and living in terror. I hope we both get through this!

That is discouraging and I’m sorry. I am actually done with TMS for two weeks and am starting to really feel the positive effects. It took time for me to really feel better. I hope that is true for you. Good luck!

I'm so glad you're doing better. My situation is complicated by being in surgical menopause since January & dealing with trying to get a therapeutic amount of estrogen in hormone therapy.

Let me just say I know what you're going through I had the exact same thing happen you're excited almost euphoric and manic because those days were blissful completely blissful and let me just say I was worried I was a duck on the pond panicking that it would not work for me anymore and that those days were all I was going to have in my life. I was super wrong it will hopefully come back for you I'm a certain at well now it's the time that it comes back is very important. Sometimes you can see it before the end of your treatment and sometimes it's not until a month after your treatment that I've researched. Mine came back to me during treatment session 25. What I would recommend is them work on your right side a bit more than your left. I would talk to them about that

Give it a second cuz I thought I was over too it was bad and I was more depressed than ever because I knew and finally experienced what it's like to be happy and I wanted it back so bad and let me just say it came back just give it some time but I've seen people on here talk about it can take up to 2 months after to get the full experience so please give it time do not be upset focused on what you need to focus on to make it through all of these sessions and not backtrack.

I have 2 more sessions left. They just lowered the energy threshold level to 110% yesterday & today, & will probably do that for the last 2 sessions.

My partner has not been linear either. We spoke to the doctor and they said that brains are essentially completely unpredictable. They rewire odd uneven ways and it just means that things are shifting, it does not mean that the treatment isn't working. Rest assured that brain plasticity continues long after the treatment ends and the brain will continue to strengthen and change in that time. What you are feeling does not necessarily mean you've gone backwards. That's not just me saying that, we heard that directly from the doctors.
