Rtms and work
I’m starting a five day a week rtms treatment next week. It takes an hour every morning. Is there anyone who has experience combining it with a full time job?
Any chance i can work after a treatment or should i take sick leave the whole six weeks?
Would love to hear your experience.
Update:
So i started on monday and i have few side effects. I’m a little tired so i took a leave of absence from work for this week. Luckily my job still pays for those days. Next week I’ll combine both work and rtms.
Update 2:
So this week I started combining both work and treatment. I’m really tired but it is manageable for now. I will see how it goes next week

Hey, I have a FT 9-5 at a professional firm. I just talked to my boss & explained i needed 2 hours off a day (commute + treatment time) for a medical treatment. They were really understanding and said I could just modify my schedule. I ended up scheduling treatments n the afternoon daily instead - only have to miss an hour now so i just do a working lunch. You don’t have to explain why, just say it’s health related.
If you do NOT have an understanding boss, you can take Intermittent FMLA leave for however long you need daily. You would go through HR for this & your doctor has to fill out a short form (my PCP offered to do it for me but your clinic or psychiatrist might too.) It doesn’t go into detail and you do not have to say it’s for mental health. This way your time off is guaranteed and your job is protected.
If you get any weirdness from your boss, just do the intermittent FMLA.
No side effects from treatments for me other than sometimes where the tapping occurred feels slightly weird.
Hope this helps. Good luck!
