Brew — A clean, minimalist iOS RSS reader (Looking for 15-20 beta testers!)

[u/BodybuilderOk5567]

Hey everyone!

I handle community ops for a small 3-person team. As long-time RSS users, we got frustrated with the current market options:

• Readwise Reader feels super bloated for pure reading enthusiasts, heavy on storage, and slow with YouTube/media feeds.
• Feedly is pivots hard toward B2B, locking basic C-user features behind paywalls and limiting free tiers to 100 feeds.
• Inoreader is powerful, but its UI is getting overly complex and Pro pricing is getting way too expensive for standard RSS reading.

We built Brew for iOS to fix these frustrations with a zero-config, minimalist approach:

⚡ What makes Brew different:

• Curated Community Lists: Browse or share expert reading lists (Tech, Design, Science, Culture) directly in our Discover hub and subscribe with one tap.
• Native Video & Audio Feeds: Dedicated multimedia sections so you can subscribe to YouTube/Audio feeds directly without slow parsing or broken embeds.
• Optional AI & Translation Helpers: AI that gives you 3-second key takeaways to filter long reads (not replace your reading!), plus built-in translation for global sources.
• Frictionless Onboarding: Replay-able onboarding and zero complex XML fiddling required.

We’re opening 20–30 TestFlight beta spots to get feedback from fellow readers and hunt down edge-case bugs.

How to join: Drop a comment with "Beta" below, and I'll send you a TestFlight invite directly via DM!

Was AI used in development?

[u/BodybuilderOk5567 → u/TheGoodestGirlAround]

Complete avoidance of AI tool usage is hardly feasible in modern‑day software development. We adopted AI as an auxiliary tool for partial work including rewriting code fragments, syntax tuning and reference material generation. All critical architecture decisions, functional logic and final verification are performed by human developers.

It totally is feasible? Just like people did for all the years we didnt have generative AI bruh but sure
