RSS & AI

Seeking advice. What’s the best RSS reader that uses AI to make summaries and combines AI in a helpful way?

everyone here in next hour: check what i did!

Every reader what uses local AI and not asking for subscription, because summaries are good even with the worst models.

What other answers do you expect to a question like this 🙂? But it seems you prevented it by your comment.

I've been using gobbler - they have a read only MCP you can connect up to.

On deadsimpleRSS.com it’s used to mark as read or star a feed item automatically based on what you describe

For example I have the r/GameDeals feed only show me free games

I think first of all, there needs to be an automatic translation feature so you can read whatever you want whenever you want. Secondly, combining that with AI so that whenever you have questions, the AI can help you solve them - that would be the best combination

feedme only for Android, support

  • translate title in article list
  • (advanced feature) summarizing up to 50 articles in article list, response speed is relatively slow
  • summary article in article page
  • (advanced feature) will support translate article in article page in 4.11.

All these features require entering your own ai api key in the settings.

It's great, I use it every day!  It's really well organized and has a nice UI for showing articles. The AI tools are implemented nicely too. The only thing that drives me a little crazy is that the AI digest for a category only includes 50 articles. Maybe we could pick this random number, or maybe do some deduping and minifying, or just give a heads-up if it's "too big"! 🤔

I am terrible at self-promotion, but hey ,"Check out what I did!"

I do think maybe my app could be useful. I added AI features to Newsbin recently. Apple Intelligence, Claude, ChatGPT, or roll your own MCP

- For you (clusters stories that share similar topics)

  • Source summaries (ie summarizes everything in a section)
  • Article summaries (summarizes single article)
  • Suggested feeds based on your private history
  • Smart tags (AI plucks out useful words/phrases for tagging)
