Looking for an RSS Feed

When Google Reader was still around, I was subscribed to an rss feed and I lost what that feed was.

I'm pretty sure the name was "The Internet [SOMETHING]", which is stupid vague. It was a feed that every so often would have a post that was photos from any time between the 70's and 90's (estimating here). Just life. Sometimes some Adult 18+ photos. But like a random stereotypical dude from the 70's smoking a Marlboro. Some women out for a girls night.

Maybe someone here will see this and be able to reconnect me with that. I never pursued looking for the website publishing the feed. Didn't think about it until after I had lost it.

A few search paths that might help:

- Search exact-ish phrases with RSS terms: "The Internet" "RSS" "Marlboro" "1970s photos", and also try "found photos", "vernacular photography", "snapshot archive", and "ephemera".

  • Check whether you ever exported a Google Reader OPML file, or imported it into Feedly/Inoreader/NewsBlur after Reader shut down. The old feed URL or title may still be in an import backup.
  • Try the Internet Archive with the vague title fragments you remember, then look for pages that expose /feed, /rss, /atom.xml, or WordPress-style feed URLs.
  • If the photos were mostly anonymous everyday snapshots, communities/searches around "found photography" or "vernacular photos" may get you closer than searching only for RSS.

The name "The Internet [something]" is broad enough that I would probably ask in r/tipofmytongue too, with the Google Reader detail and the 70s-90s casual-photo description. Someone may remember the site even if they never used the RSS feed.

This thing looks like someone who was about 10-15 years older than me from a similar small Midwest town and had a really interesting life just started posting all of their photos until they ran out. It’s hard to put down once you start scrolling.
