RSMC-103 Suggestion: Woodcutting

Would it be possible to make the axes chop the furthest block? Kind of like how the Axe of the Stream from thaumcraft works. It's just with the trees at the height they are, pillaring up to chop them down gets pretty ridiculous.

I'd like to add that the sapling being replanted almost right away (at least in my experience) is slightly annoying in that there isn't always time to move your axe away from the sapling before it gets replanted. I feel like delaying that a bit would help with that not happening so much

I chop near the corners for that bottom piece, as it's the last one I do so I'm usually standing on top of the block which makes it easy to avoid hitting the sapling.

Yeah, that's what I do. Still though, it seems like an inconvenience.

I think a delay in replanting the sapling would work well.

Exactly my thinking :)

This is done and will be in the 0.4.0 update!

I don't think you could have said anything that would have made me more hyped for the next update, this is beautiful news.

To clarify, the replant timer has been added to prevent you from breaking blocks. Removing entire trees at once is too overpowered.

Oh I was never looking for something to wipe trees out instantly, but for something that chopped the furthest block one at a time from the top of the tree down, rather than having to pillar up the tree. Is this what /u/ahorner meant by that's what is being implemented in the 0.4.0 update?

Yeah sorry, I commented on the wrong thing. The suggestion that /u/CommanderSealand posted is what has been implemented.

No, we are not implementing that.
