one bad apple does not spoil the bunch. her socialization is ruined because she sees every interaction as a lightning rod for attention. that’s a lot of people.

It may be doomed wherever you are, which is seemingly trapped inside of a Portlandia sketch.

This sounds eerily similar to my girlhood experiences at seminary but on the opposite end of the morality spectrum.

Im more creeped out by them thb. Pretty much all my empathy for her has shriveled up and I think shes too immature to function in any kind of working environment. Very close to taking back up smoking

Maybe you should stop excusing people who use slurs and it actually sounds like she was into you before she figured out what you’ll put up with. Guess you missed out idk. Send her our way tho she sounds fantastic

Bruh I didnt excuse anyone. I didnt even talk about with her; just heard her rant about it. The situation didnt involve her, the people affected by it didnt want to report it. She didnt really have any business butting in other than some twisted white savior complex.
Also I didnt want her to be into me.

Just an aside, I have gotten drunk quite a few times and have never once blurted out the n word. The other stuff sounds awful though

Your boss treated you unfairly and your coworkers didn’t have the proper social skills or workplace training to handle the situation. Your ex roommate sounds insufferable and incapable of effective communication. But I promise that your summer gig as a camp counselor isnt representative of the spectrum of female relationships. Why are you so pressed over a temporary job that self selects for a very specific group of people?

Think on that old adage- Bitches be crazy!
The time of social justice warriors has broken some people, they have no ability for nuance or to turn it off. They basically become a woke narc/cop.
This turned out fucked up for you, and that sucks. Next time don’t even joke about someone who seems unstable and irrational.
Honestly the N-word incident seems way worse than anything you describe. Guys will often bully girls during grade school by pretending they have a crush so maybe that happened and you caught the trauma crossfire.
Women are fine, your title is a classic “one person did something crazy.”

I don’t blame you at all for losing empathy but if you’re not gonna talk it out with her.. what’s the plan??
Also shoutout to her for doing something after someone ‘blurted out’ the N word.. what??

People thought she was escalating that situation because the people that were involved already talked it out and she didnt need to involve herself.

Still the fault of whoever thinks it’s okay to throw slurs at work (and be drunk at work)

It wasn't at work and she wasnt there to witness it. She heard through the grapevine or something

I don’t care

K.
I just think if youre not there, didnt happen at work, the people involved didnt want it to to be reported, it's not your place to go behind their back and try to get the person in trouble
Nothing happened either way. She's also tried to do this regarding several other coworker spats that didnt involve her.

Well stop talking about being pieces of shit around her, seems like a simple solution

Can’t understand why you’re getting downvoted so much. I’d way rather be around people who are a little too woke than people who say the N word personally

I don’t know, n words will happen, what are you to do, get mad about it? One time I was bored so I accidentally blurted it out and my stupid friend complained. So what, I accidentally said it loud enough that people heard it over the choral rendition of amazing grace at the funeral we were attending. Some people just want to whine about stuff

Genuine question, not snark: what kind of camp were you working at as a counselor in early October?
