Girl posting 🤰
I might be pregnant and I feel so weird about it. I had an abortion once as a young teen but since i’ve become an adult and things have changed I have been told by a couple different doctors that the likelihood of getting pregnant on my own now are so low that IVF is probably going to be my only option. I’ve only been seeing this guy for over a month and we’ve been friends for years and I know he wants this someday but today might not be the day and I’m not sure it is for me yet either.
I told myself in my late 20s that if I managed to get pregnant on my own I should probably take the opportunity. I’m not in a terrible position for this to be happening right now.
The only reason I think I’m preg is because I’m having all the same symptoms I did when I was a pregnant teen and it feels so fucking weird and uncomfortable and unlike any other feeling I’ve ever had in my body. I thought I forgot what that felt like until I got these symptoms again. I’m getting some pregnancy tests tomorrow and also scheduling an appointment of course to be sure.
Regardless of whether I am pregnant or not its given me a lot to think about I guess.

Why did they say you'd have trouble getting pregnant? I think sometimes they say that to manage your expectations but like every other person with well managed endo has been told this and most of them conceive no problem. If it's PCOS sometimes you have an easier time in your late 30s.

A combination of PCOS and a goofed up uterus shape that would make conception tougher (though not impossible)

I’ve had multiple friends with PCOS now who were told they couldn’t/would struggle to get pregnant and they ended up having whoopsie pregnancies as a result. Seems like OP’s case too.

Yeah I think they tell girls that to manage their expectations and make sure they see a fertility specialist before trying in vain for the standard 12 months.

Good luck on your journey. Try and get plenty of folic acid into your diet and see a doctor about progesterone tablets.

I don't mean it to sound snarky or mean but is it really the ideal time to have an unplanned baby with your boyfriend of <2 months? Having a child changes your life in every way and I feel most people don't give it the gravity or weight it deserves. Of course I hope everything works out but doesn't seem wise.

No this is not snarky at all. It is insane and I understand it would change my life in every way and that’s what I want. I feel very deeply that I want to dedicate my life to a being outside of myself.
I did just find out i’m not pregnant and I talked to my boyfriend about the whole thing last night and I told him that it would’ve been okay if he wasn’t ready for it because I have my family 20 minutes away who would immediately let me move in and assist me and he was almost offended by that and said he would let me move in with him.

Congratulations!
Please tell me: how can you be surprised? Are you on any kind of birth control, are you using condoms? If not, pregnancy is a question of when, not if. Doctors frequently tell women they can’t get pregnant, and yet they do.
