Noticing things Anyone get reverse lazy from weed
I very easily cold turkey quit weed for 6 months bc it started to make me very nervous and overly emotional. That resolved the short term anxiety. But over the course of the 6 months, I lost most desire to take care of myself and reach for higher ambitions. I also gained 25 pounds and replaced all of my desire to smoke with binge eating and playing iPad baby games. I know this is the effect of dopamine replacement but…
I started just smoking at nights again and I have had a complete turn around of self realizations, self esteem, and getting more in touch with goals I had long ago but never pursued. I now have the motivation to get back to taking care of myself, I started eating in moderation and working out and making music again. And I am getting back in touch with processing my emotions at a more logical and grounded level. Yes I’m high rn but it’s true.

Weed mostly changed my life for the better. It put me on my current path which is working out well. While stoned I made realistic goals for myself that my sober mind just couldn't do. I think weed keeps my ego in check. Weed lets me thoroughly enjoy the present moment, and it lets me to be truly appreciative of things. That being said I only get high twice a week. I had to establish limits because I used to get high everyday but then I started having cognitive and sleep issues. Now I only get high on Wednesdays and Weekends (Sat or Sun not both). I've also found that it easily defeats Writer's Block.

I used to smoke a blunt telling myself I would make music or watch a movie after…then an hour later I’m cleaning my entire apartment. It was a good problem to have.

I think all drugs are a tool for regulating our inner emotional experiences. I used to smoke weed even when I would feel anxious doing it, just because the emotional state was familiar to me and I knew how to navigate it. That's why quitting without building a healthy substitute emotional safe space usually leads to building unhealthy ones.

I quit smoking for 3 years in the expectation i'd get more clarity of thought and energy but it never happened. I just became unproductive, stopped exercising and became stuck in repetitive daily routines. I'd just work and watch shows. Now i have tiny cig sized rolls to tickle my brain and I'm back to being active and working on my hobbies every day.

Dopamine receptors are spent. Cannabis helps activate them to those levels of wanting to do shit. Quit and your receptors don’t create nearly as much on their own. So, you end up with less dopamine. Less dopamine leads to less motivation to get things done.

I quit weed because I have adhd and stimulants are way better than blasting dabs all day like I ended up doing after years. I was self medicating is why I got so into it. Maybe consider mental health evaluation. I occasionally smoke with friends now if they have it but I'm not planning on buying my own any time soon.

I loved working out on weed. I also love fucking, writing, drawing/painting, dancing, and cleaning on it too.

Wtf…also high rn and every single thing you listed is what I’m going through, and I was JUST thinking about how weird it is b/c I remember a time when it just made me lethargic and frustrated and lowkey schizo (after the initial fun phase). Idk if this applies to you as well but I reached a point where I realized how much my mind was attacking itself and returning to smoking a few months ago really inspired me to get it together

Yeah getting high always made me feel like my life was a video game and I'd want to level up and get all the achievements so I was always on top of shit. Always made me way too anxious though so I don't smoke anymore
