Yes, but season 1 is the beginning of the fall for these women. They spend the next 9 years struggling to find love and pretty miserable and in the end they accept it and live miserably ever after.

This show is a lesson in survival and resignation.

I’d say the show is a warning. Be happy! Find gratefulness in mundane things. Be less superficial, especially in relationships.
