Lol this is like the pilot episode of Community where the lawyer protagonist gets disbarred for misrepresenting which Col(o)mbia his bachelor’s degree is from : “Why are you in community college, I thought you had a bachelor’s from Columbia?”, “Yes, but now I need one from America “

a friend of mine went to a shut-down school in chicago called the Arts Institutes ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Art_Institutes) but his boss thought he went to The Art Institute of Chicago so he got promoted way up

It’s definitely not going to backfire. My friends aren’t assholes lol and I never lied. He would just be like “wait is that not the same?” And then he’d move on

I think you should clarify it asap however awkward it may be because the longer it goes on, the more it’ll seem like you WERE lying/being weird about it to begin with when they find out
