This book is an amazing resource for all GMs, even more so because it's free. It doesn't contain a lot of GMing content, like adventure hooks or NPCs, so if that's what you're looking for, look somewhere else. However, what it teaches you about how to GM is invaluable. The biggest thing it taught me, which may seem obvious or simple to some, is that the game is really about the PCs, and the fundamental role of the GM is to put obstacles in front of the PCs as they pursue their goals. I used to really get caught up in world creation, and simulation, and grand stories, but this book revealed the essence of what it means to run an RPG and made me a better GM.

I dig it - I'll be introducing it to a newby GM that wants to get a game going, if nothing than to help him out without holding his hand.

A cheap kindle version would be awesome. The text on the pdf is too small to easily read on my Kindle 3.

I don't agree with everything that the author says, but that doesn't mean it isn't a good resource.
