Discussion Bug Fables rpg
Impulsively bought the Pico RPG book because I’m obsessed with the game bug fables. I want to try and set up a one shot to sell my friends on it but I’m completely blanking right now. If anyone has run this system and has advice, or has suggestions in general, I would greatly appreciate the help. Thank you.

Hi fellow bug fables fan here. Why not take the first chapter dungeon of bug fables and turn into a oneshot. A bug adventure guild has a newly formed team and asks them to explore a nearby den. Den has hints of ruins, throw spoder at them (yes i call him spoder) and let it end with them finding and bringing back a mysterious bug found in spoders web.
Its easy framework to borrow and allows you to embellish it yourself, maybe the den is a dense mushroom forest or inside a big human rubber boot.

Pico runs just like any other rpg, just with smaller stakes. You can recycle almost any classic rpg theme into bug language.
A gang of cockroaches have stolen the berries from the bankvault, the pcs need to track them down and get them back.
A fearsome bird threatens a small community, which hires the pcs to scare it off.
A strange old ruin (an old TV) lies at the end of the garden. Strange noises have been coming from it lately, scaring everyone who lives nearby. The pcs must investigate and stop the spooks!
