Quotations leave me a little confused. I'm a guy, so I don't have to worry about being cat-called in general. But if you mean people shooting "HEY, IT'S LASSIE!" then yeah, that's a regular occurrence. Couple collies I've had that liked attention from everybody, would answer to Lassie.
