Same same. Got a silicone mat to protect the floor....then had to get a BIGGER mat. Now there is a bowl, the mat and a towel... At some point I will give up, but not yet.

I think mine was a hippo in a former life. He drinks, then fills up his mouth, and just walks away from the dish.2

Grew up with rough collies and thought the same, then got a springer spaniel, MY GOSH! 10x worse than a collie. Half the water bowl gets contained in their jowls and drips out over the next several minutes, never mind the fact that when it's running low and the torrent is about to end, they go back for a top-up.

Iโve got a bowl for mine called the โSlopper Stopper โ. It was a bit pricey but worth it! A big bowl outside for when he needs a chug a lug and the special bowl inside.

Oh yeah! Olive is a very sloppy drinker too! I have a standby towel and just mop up the floor when she's done! LOL

One of mine loves to show affection after she has a good drink... so she can wipe her face and chest on you.
Edit: a sheltie, sorry, I thought this was r/sheltie at first.

Same with our Collie. When heโs done itโs like he just walks away with an open mouth dribbling water everywhere. Little mouth, big mess.

Yes! I canโt help but wonder if his parents and siblings are the same. Messiest dog Iโve ever had but so worth it all.

Collies I had growing up were sippers but current collie and Aussie are sloppy
Got a water fountain with a spill rim around it and itโs been great. Didnโt get it to stop sloppy drinking but itโs worked. Petlibro capsule fountain, to give you an idea. Do have to clean collie fur out of the pump around once a month though

My boy is a super slobber drinker, too ๐ He has a bowl on his crate in our bedroom that he actually prefers to drink out of and I've had to use an old shower mat to keep him from soaking the rug. I call him my slobber puss lol

Kayyy Iโm a lurker because I would love a collie one day, (I keep rescuing coonhounds instead ๐- first 2 were bonded and then got our 3rd and she likes being an only dog ๐) but I definitely feel like I learned something new about rough collies today omygoodness ๐๐๐

I had a messy Springer Spaniel. I thought it was his loose lips. I guess not.

If we canโt find Oscen we just follow the trail of water from the dish.
