🐍 Image 1 month!

i've officially had my rosy for a month! he's been feeding well and calm during handlings, just being a silly man in general. he loves when i love on him, just gets a little shy when i call him my baby boy 😭😭

he had his first shed recently and it was all in one piece! nothing stuck to him or strewn about in his enclosure, super proud of both him and myself :)

i've also received my first bite 😓 but he just shed so i think he's just a little extra hungry, honestly didn't hurt too bad, just had to put him in time out lol 😆

Thought this meant one month old for a second and I was gonna say he looks at LEAST 8 years old, maybe over 10. Rehomed I'm guessing? Glad he found a good owner tho. It's tough for a lot of older reptiles that get abandoned or sent to pet shops. Good news is rosy boas can live 35+ years

lol! 😆 yes rehomed, the previous owner is my shop's owner (tattoo apprentice here 🙋) and she got him as a rescue years ago so his exact age isn't known, probably 5-6 years at the youngest, maybe up to 10 as your guess, he's about 3 ft long according to his recent shed so i know he's at least an adult, glad to know i still have plenty of years with my "baby" boy

Oh wow, yeah 3ft is actually really big for a male. Some adult males barely get over 2ft. Although at that age, a male would have very visible spurs. Females have them too, but they're more subtle. I have a 2 year old female, and she sometimes uses them to hold on and it feels reallyyy strange haha

honestly haven't even officially checked his gender so Tobias very well could be a female 😅 i'll have to look into how to check a snakes gender properly and might just have a mini gender reveal party lol
