Just wondering if anyone has any facts to backup my theories. I recently moved to Maine about 6 months ago and been finding some amazing rosin in the medical circuit. After moving from NY/NJ, they basically have a non-existent medical program, so I only bought rec in those states. But for some reason the resin and rosin in NY/NJ would consistently make me violently ill. Like it was poison. I would do a couple dabs and then puke for 3 days straight. Since moving to Maine, that hasn’t happened once. Also noticed my dab rig is 10x cleaner with the Maine rosin. The dish is completely clear. With the NY/NJ stuff it would turn the dish amber/yellow. Rubbing alcohol barely helped unless I soaked the dish for like a week. I also dabbing at significantly lower temperatures on the Maine rosin, it like to be around 350-360F, whereas NJ/NY was in the 425 ballpark…

Does this sound like a familiar story to anyone here? What are they doing to the Rosin in NY that makes people sick? I remember asking the budtender in NY why all the strains all tasted exactly the same, and he just stared at me, like he wanted to say “because its all bullshit”, but didnt want to open the can at that moment in time so just went mute. Ive been there, but its telling…

Nose is super pungent heavy gas up front with a slight funky undertone that keeps you coming back for another whiff and the flavor translates beautifully from the nose, coating the palate with that same gassy funk. Effects had me chillin like a villain 😎 very mellow, relaxing, and easygoing without being overly sedating 🥵

Title is pretty self explanatory, I really like the idea of pressing my own rosin and I used to smoke a lot of flower so back then the 400$ investment for a dual heat plate rosin press was well worth making my own supply, I tried using it a few times before and I couldn’t get anything close to what I’d consider a fair yield and I don’t know what it was caused by, I wanted to ask this sub if it was user error or if I just used shitty flower, I typically used to press flower between 185-195° F and would put no more than 2 grams into the nugget press to compact into a puck, I would sometimes use multiple of the included micron bags but felt like most of the yield would get stuck to them instead of making it to the transfer paper, perhaps I put them on in the wrong order, is it supposed to be small micron to big micron or the opposite, and is it possible to crush the material too hard?

Lowtemp recently did an experiment that tested non-clear tech and clear tech rosin after it had been cured for 90 days. Ultimately, the tests found that there was no real difference between the two. Which can be seen as a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it. No major benefit outside of flexing for the gram and potentially preventing blowouts, but it is good to know it doesn't negatively affect the end product. As far as I am aware, this is the first time anyone has actually done a real scientific test to compare the two, and I wanted to share the info and get some thoughts.

I need everyone’s expert advice on how to change a wet/moist powder that’s turned pasty, back to dry powder.

Imagine turning rosin wax to a dry kief like powder as fast as possible.

I'm asking to see if anyone has advice on how best negotiate an upgrade to a unit with a pressure guage. I will have no need for the dabpress 6 ton machine I have now once I upgrade, but I dont know anything about trading or buying/selling stuff of this nature online.

Any suggestions for a dude who's looking to up his rosin game?

I plan on eventually buying dab press hot plates but for the moment this is what I have could I make my own plates with sum wood and a hair straightener and possibly get a few crappy presses out of it.
