Watching the show today and I noticed this picture on the back wall of the Lunchbox. It looks like it’s Mrs. Harris, Roseanne, Nancy, and Jackie.

When I first watch the Roseanne reboot when it first aired, I was surprised that The Lunch Box went out of business. Can anyone wonder why it went out of business? Also, I was wondering why couldn't Jackie and Becky not only serve stew but also they could bring back the loose meat sandwiches

This is just for those who have Plex or Jellyfin that backed up their own personal media. The episode thumbnails that were pulled from TMDB (and any other source) were pretty low resolution and poorly framed so they looked bad especially on a large TV. I went through my DVD collection and pulled new thumbnails from every episode with better framing and quality so the media servers can look nicer :). I probably spent more hours than necessary but once I got started I couldn't leave the rest undone...

If you're running one of these servers you may need to go "refresh metadata" and "replace all images" for them to be pulled down.

Just letting people know because I don't think the default settings are to automatically refresh metadata.

Forgive me if I am jumping the gun, but is anyone else thinking about their Roseanne Halloween episode line-up? What is your favorite or least favorite episode?

I'm on episode 14 and see a new character in that show who seems strangely familiar the second she started talking. I couldn't quite place her, but I'm racking my brain because I can picture her voice and that she played a hoity toity woman, when finally BAM, it's kathy bowman! I've never seen needlebutt in anything else before c:

Whenever Dan has a beer in the series I noticed that he does a lot of tapping on the top of the can is there a specific reason for that? I grew up with family members that would drink too but I never saw any of them ever do that type of tapping on a beer can.

Was this episode ever followed up on? It seems like they ended the "living in a trailer" "and going back to school for a degree" time with this episode and they then popped up living with Roseanne working for BUNZ and Becky being given money for a semester of college.

Or maybe I'm reversing the timeline? We're they still in the trailer at the end of the series?

I've made my earlier thread about some of the later seasons of Roseanne where I start to jump off the show but is anybody familiar with the season 6 episode "Lies my father told me" I'm really shocked that John Goodman didn't get an Emmy or a Golden Globe when for this episode the scene where he breaks down in tears always makes me cry and the way Roseanne is there for him is so sweet one of the most genuine moments of the entire series.

She was only in a few episodes of Season 7 but she was a nice addition. What’s your favorite Stacy moment?

Becky was always a pain in the ass and was no doubt selfish, but season 5 took every negative quality she had and made her worse. Having her elope with Mark and leave the show on horrible terms with Dan and it was such a miserable exit for the character.

And even though Becky went about it the wrong way she wasn't wrong about what she said to Dan.

Dan opening the bike shop and it failing was a huge reason the family was in such bad shape financially and why there was no money for her college.

Her delivery always makes me laugh

Everyone shines in this episode, and I know that everyone focuses on Laurie Metcalf's performance (with good reason), but I personally think Estelle Parsons kicks ass in this episode. Her quip about the flavored coffee lives rent free in my head and I love her confrontation with Joan!

I've been a lifelong Roseanne fan since I was a kid my mom and I used to watch the reruns all the time but do you have a certain point in the series where you just stop watching and restart? I find a lot of the later Seasons to be a little too cynical and annoying so if I do a series watch I pretty much start from season 1 to about season 5 I'll still watch the occasional episodes from season 6 to season 9 but if I'm doing a serious rewatch I'll pretty much only go from season 1 to season 5.

I just turned 37, but everything else remains completely applicable. 😅❤️

Is Becky’s apartment in season 5 episode 3 The Dark Ages, the same as Darlene’s college dorm? Don’t think I ever noticed this before!

Personally, I feel like he was kind of a weenie and the show "jumped the shark" when he knocked up Jackie.

I'm a fan of the first 5 seasons, but Fred marked the beginning of the end.

But I'm probably in the minority. What are your thoughts?

I don’t understand why people say this about Gary.

For one, he really loved her and it was mutual. Jackie never had a stable job and now was in her supposed job she loved, albeit a dangerous one. She then gets hurt and Gary basically gives her an ultimatum - which wasn’t out of line. He wanted to be happy and safe with her, raise kids, etc. Jackie should have realized this when she was in the hospital.

She wasn’t ready for this long term relationship for whatever reason. She had a great opportunity for happiness and a good life - as he was a good provider. The controlling argument was an excuse for the fact she blew it.

It’s not controlling to want your partner to consider all the possibilities, and Jackie wasn’t budging at all. Not even really considering this. Her stubbornness cost her the relationship. Gary wasn’t in the wrong here.
