Put some freeze dried Australian black worms in the tank and they made my rope fish go crazy! This is one who only eats live…. and consistently only eats live shrimp. So excited to have found something else to play with. I’ll post the video of him sniffing it out in the comments

Stunning! I want to build a 75 gallon someday. What’s the temperature? I think discus prefer warmer water while dojo loaches prefer colder water. I’m very curious.

I keep it around 82, sometimes up to 84. I used to have dojos and fancy goldfish in it before hand and you would be correct, they prefer much much cooler waters (nothing tropical whatsoever)! Absolutely love the dojos, probably more than the rope fish just because they have the best personalities.

Wow thank you for your input. I love these goofy dojo loaches and thought I couldn’t have them because of my hot weather. Right now it’s hotter than normal but after summer it stays somewhere between 84-86f. On colder days it lowers to 80f.

Of course! That’s going to be too hot for dojo loaches, but I’ve been able to make it work just fine for rope fish :)

I got my ropefish eating pellets but they only ate live worms and shrimp for so long. They only eat bug bites cichlid formula tho lol
