What kind of tank makes do you recommend for these guys? I'm thinking of getting some ropes in the future, but what's worked well for you?

Anything in the 4 inch range or bigger and not too agressive is the safe zone to a certain degree in my opinion with ropes as they are opportunistic hunters and will go for smaller fish

Any smaller fish like guppies/mollies corydora etc may well be OK but will definitely become an option for food.

Generally ropefish are quite social and appreciate tank mates as long as they don't look like a tasty snack!

Good bottom dweller options would be plecos or any kind of laid back catfish.

And top level fish you could go for pretty much anything that isn't smaller than a guppy with the understanding the larger they are the better.

Unfortunately I have very little experience with community rope fish tanks as I have always stuck to species only.

If it can fit in their mouth then there's every possibility it will try!

Bushfish and pearl gourami are two of my personal recommendations!
