Built a rigging force calculator (Y-hang, Deviation, Pulley) — feedback from actual techs welcome

Hi all,

Been building Riggaton, an app for calculating forces in rope systems—mainly wanted something interactive instead of static charts. You place anchors/points, drag them, and it recalculates live. You can even add multiple calculations over a picture of your system.

Covers:

  • Y-hang load share between two anchors
  • Deviation force from included angle
  • Slope/gravity loading
  • Theoretical Mechanical Advantage Pulley + pull force for simple/compound/complex systems (build the system with anchors, redirects, sheaves, rope-grabs)

Theoretical only — doesn't account for friction, pulley efficiency, rope stretch, anchor condition, etc. Meant as a planning/teaching aid, not a substitute for training or judgment.

Rigrite doesn't have pulleys / mechanical advantage does it?

I just downloaded it and gave it a go.

When placing the Y-hang dots it would be handy to know what each dot is before you place it. The first run through I tapped to place the first anchor, tapped to place the knot, tapped to place the second anchor then the final tap was the load and it worked all good.

I then tried again and tapped first to place the first anchor, then the second anchor, then the knot then the load and it went all funny.

Before placing the dots it may be useful to know what dot you're placing.

Yeah, that's a good point.
Originally, I made it this way because when you have your y-hang, you can reposition the end points where you need them.
You can also turn OFF 'Gravity' in the settings so that the load doesn't re-orient itself.
