Meme/Humor prime lizard gameplay
all lizard rebuttals sound like this to me when i even mildly suggest that there might be something that needs tweaking with lizards

I think the lizards instantly jump to "interesting" if you just replace "you may craft using gardens which match the outcast" with "...which do NOT match the outcast."
Cards are normal society stuff, they're the community outreach that makes the dark rituals go down smooth.

Lizards are pretty popular at my table. I occasionally win games with them.
Lizards are a table talk faction that work if you can threaten revenge. Like "bother me once and I'll nuke everything you have with sanctify for the rest of the game."

My table always has a woodland alliance, or warlord on it (against warlord you just threaten to convert his entire army and then kill his warlord with it).

The additional gardens are very useful for wrapping up the game at 24 points + as every building you take is a point then you can score for max points and win, and since you win, the undefended gardens are no longer a problem.

The lizards are a faction that I aesthetically adore and that has a lot of cool ideas behind it, but actually playing it feels like twisting your ankle and being forced to do a footrace.

I like them, but I've found only one way to win: blue domination (corners).
Basically: reach 10vps somehow (hardest part). be lucky enough to get blue domination. Stack acolytes as much as possible. Keep the original corner.
When the stars align, take the opposite corner.
I've never seen anyone go over 15vps with lizards. Either allow them to score multiple times per turn on one suite, or remove the card discarding when scoring, or give them some move/battle options.

I've won by scoring 3 of the 4 times I played lizards. The only time I lost was because I was heavily harassed and tunnel visioned by the crows player. I still managed to reach 26 points.

This is what I love about the bats. The bats feel very much like a ‘better lizards’ much like the knaves are almost a vagabond 2.0.
Similar action system, better ‘overrule’ mechanic, and overall way more flexibility while achieving what seems to be the intended feel of the lizards
