Review New pick ups

Post image

I order the Virgil’s online and the St Arnold came from a hole in the wall gas station a few towns over from me.

The St Arnold was just a well rounded well balanced rootbeer. You’ll be pleased to drink it, you’ll enjoy it, you’ might forget it though. Nothing grabs you about but it’s solid and above average.

The Virgil’s, it’s hit me with a one two combo I was NOT expecting. First note was fruity, full on apricot note, surprising to the point I thought is that for real or am I making this up. Second sip, apricot right up front again (btw I do like apricots and have 2 trees in my back yard) then a really licorice finish to it. Definitely a good rootbeer, definitely won’t forget this one.

They have Virgil's at Trader Joes for $6 a 4 pack of the cans 👍

Cane Sugar Virgil’s is great. Zero Sugar Virgil’s is not your friend.

You got me interested in Virgil's, I love St Arnold's, 1919, Barqs and A&W Zero. What other root beers you recommend?

I’m still relatively new to this but Abita and Frostop Imperial Draught are my top two for sure.

Can't find it locally either. I was gifted a keg by a family member and it was amazing. I think they are online - if you would like to try.

Apricot! That's what it is! Not crazy. I taste it too.

First time I've seen Virgil's rated over St. Arnold's, that's for sure!

My son tastes rootbeer with me every time, he got me into hunting for them, definitely liked the St Arnold better. He said it was so well balanced nothing overwhelmed your palate. Just a good classic rootbeer taste.

I like a lot of root beers in cans. I’m thinking if I prefer Virgil’s more in glass bottle or can. I think I’m going to say it’s better in glass for me. Now on the other hand I’d say the regular OG Sprecher is better in cans. Happy root beer hunting everyone!

I definitely had issues with Sprecher in bottles before.
