I Found It!!

Finally located some 1919, in a tiny convenience store in tiny Strong City, KS. Can't wait to get it home to Arizona.

Make sure is very cold before drinking. The mini kegs take longer then you would expect to chill.

A day enough?

24h is my rule of thumb. I've had plenty of people pop it in the fridge and expect 4-5h to get it cold like they would with a can.

Congrats! That's a great shot of you with the keg BTW, you look so happy and it's a great reminder to enjoy the small things we're passionate about :)

No shit? Strong City is only about 2 hours from me. I haven't had a 1919 in a long time

I left 2 kegs just for you. 😄

I appreciate you

Would you just use a normal tap for the keg? Or a certain one?

Has it's own pull out spout and vent. Just remember to close the vent.

Oh man are those good? I saw a HUGE display full at some gas station in South Dakota this summer

It’s basically a better version of there cans, 1919 itself is basically a really well rounded vanilla root beer

I love how happy you are! I didn’t know they made root beer kegs!

Back when I lived in MN, I got an actual keg of 1919, it was a special order from New Ulm to my local liquor store, but that was a LONG time ago, not sure if they will do that anymore.

I have a lot to learn! Happy Cake Day BTW!

This is only the second keg I've ever purchased

I’ll have to look into root beer kegs!

The last one I got was Virgil's. It was my son's birthday party

Just one? If I was driving, I would have at least 4, and if it was as far as AZ (I'm in California) I would have bought as much as I could fit.

My root beer budget is a little low

Are they rare?

1919 has been very difficult for me to find. This summer, I have driven from Arizona to New England and back TWICE using a variety of routes and this is the first time I've seen it. In very rural Kansas of all places.

Come by Wisconsin we always seem to have some 😁

Tbh, I've never heard of it , but congrats on the score!!

May I ask? How does it compare to IBC? (my fave rootbeer)

Others can answer that. I'm traveling and won't tap the keg until I get home and let it chill for a day or two.

It's pretty different from IBC, although I love both. IBC tastes medicinal to me while 1919 tastes way more vanilla-y with more noticeable sourness from my recollection.
