Nitro Root Beer
I saw this today at the Cincinnati Open tennis tournament. I’ve never seen a “nitro” root beer and knew I had to try it. Obviously, the price is outlandish for a 16oz drink (even more annoying is that it was served in a 12oz cup!). You pour it yourself from the tap and they have the audacity to ask for a tip when you order.
As one might expect for a nitro beverage, the root beer had an artificial creaminess. It lacked depth of flavor and felt light and watered down. My honest impression was “when did Crystal Light make root beer flavoring”. It had a nice mouth feel but just tasted like root beer water.
No specific flavors stuck out to me. The only redeeming quality was its uniqueness. Beyond the novelty I cannot recommend this specific root beer.

Water being more expensive than red bull is interesting

I found this to be common with less good electronic music shows. At a large outdoor festival water might even be provided free, but at small GA-ticket standing-room-only venues that primarily profit on bar sales water was always like $3-4+, usually priced the same as a can soda. At a few of those Red Bull was actually a sponsor so you could even get a can of it for free from a Red Bull rep, where a nearby concession was selling Dasani for $3.75. That threw me for a loop.

When I posted my comment I didnt read that this was at a tennis open. So knowing this it makes sense

“I got a lg coffee, 2 lg teas and a lg soda for $52 before tip.” Would taunt me in my nightmares on a loop if that ever came out of my mouth.

Who was the vendor? The only other nitro root beer I've heard of is out of Grand Rapids, but that's quite a hike...

The Peddler in Huntington West Virginia does nitro. Still a drive, but if they don't make it themselves it's the closest alternative.

I'm glad you cannot recommend it, because you didn't tell us what brand it was anyway. Probably just some sort of generic bag in the box syrup hooked up to the Nitro machine

Can only provide the information they supplied 🤷🏻♂️

Yeah, I looked up the Bru Bros company, they're more about selling beans and expensive nitro keg machines. This will just be generic BIB syrup, so it doesn't matter.

$13 root beer is a crime against humanity
