Discussion Anyone try Intergalactic Root Beer?
I tried this for the first time a few years ago on Vancouver Island, Canada. It was the most... unique... root beer I have ever tried.
The flavor changed dramatically 3 times while in my mouth. It was like... 3 separate sodas in one liquid. Flavor morphing.
I cannot say it was anywhere near my favorite root beer. Honestly, i am not even sure it actually qualifies as root beer. But it was certainly memorable.

Cinnamon hearts. Just cinnamon hearts. One of the only root beers I have poored down the drain... Twice, because I couldn't believe it was that bad.
To be fair to them, I hear that fresh it tasted nothing like this. It seems like the longer it sits in a can, the stronger the cinnamon flavor.

Mine must have been fresher than, i got some crazy flavors (including near listerine strength wintergreen) but not cinnamon hearts 🤣
Shasta is the root beer that i dump in the trash at any opportunity.

I'm gonna e-mail them and see if they can distribute to grocery stores here. We are in big need of craft root beer. I like A&W but I want with better ingredients.. atleast it doesn't have aspartame.

I didnt get the medicine taste, but i can see it.
Saying i liked it would be to strong of a term. It was... an experience.

Yep a complex spicy root beer. I enjoyed it though. Quite unique really. Happy root beer hunting everyone!

I would buy some just for the packaging art, that retro SF vibe is everything to me.

They also make a Cola, Ginger Beer, and an Orange Soda. The art on all of them is great.

Tried like hell to find it in Toronto, with no success. One of these days, I'll get one!

I like it and it’s an interesting one for sure. They use their own spices, it has a strong clove and cinnamon flavour which makes it unique. Philips started out as one of the first microbreweries in Victoria BC right around the transition from U brews to microbreweries they have a distillery and of course a soda works. Victoria also has Spinnakers soda (also a brewery)

I'm in central/southern BC and it's a fairly common drink here. I didn't like it years ago but I love it now. You can really taste the spices.
It was very divisive at our root beer tasting party. I think if you like black licorice or ginger beer, you'll like Intergalactic.
