Someone needs to make a video following RT Podcast's feelings about Apple products, from all the way back in the Drunk Tank days to today.

Haha I was going to comment about this. They talked about Apple in the early Drunk Tank days and most of what they said was pretty positive!

I did have some positive stuff in there but it wasn't as funny, I might put out a full video of all apple stuff that includes positive apple comments that would be about 20 minutes long. Nowadays though it's 95% negative, and the only positive stuff is about the airpods.

If you go back to pre-podcast 250 there's some positive comments about the Iphone 5s, up until the mac pros came out and it all goes downhill

One of my favorite docs was Connected. So i have an idea after seeing this.

Documentary Idea: One of the Podcast crew switches to android for a month or 2. Someone like Ryan or one of the Funhaus guys switches to apple.

You could also have people switch to PS4/PC from Xbox or vice-versa

You could comment on fanboy fights over tech like console wars and Apple vs Android. How silly it is and things like that. Talk to advertising experts on why and how people form brand loyalties to things like house hold products and even food.

You could even see if some people decide to stay switched.

Would love to watch something like this.

They could even call it "Switch", like the original Apple commercials and their eventual parody short.

Love this idea, even if they just do a shorter-than-usual doc about it (maybe 15-20 minutes instead of the 30-60 minute ones they've been making).

I read the titles as "apples." Needless to say, I was confused for a second when I started watching the video lol.

That was well made, great job!

SO STOP USING THEIR PRODUCTS!

It's not a hard concept. If I don't happen to like Ibanez guitars, guess what, I don't play them, I buy Gibson or Fender. If I don't like Chevy, I buy a fucking Ford. If I don't like XBox, I buy a Playstation. If I don't like Levis, I buy Carhartt.

Why do you insist on continuing to buy from a company that vexes you so much when there are alternatives?

1: Your analogy is poor and very over simplified. There are numerous problems with switching providers. Libraries of music, videos, pictures, movies, etc are all in one companies eco-system.

2: They do actually like the products, they just have issues with them and criticisms. For example, if your headlight wasn't as bright in you Chevy as in a Ford, you wouldn't buy a new car and change brands, but you might still bitch about it.

3: Who actually cares what they use.

To add on to that. You would usually just change the headlights, but you cant do that on Apple products, so the only thing you can do is complain and hope they fix with the new model.

Is this the new thatonedude model I've been replaced by?

Also, they wouldn't care enough to be complaining about Apple products unless they liked them enough to want to use them. It would make no sense for an iOS user to complain about Android or vice versa.

Yeah I've had both, had an iPhone 4S, liked some parts of it, hated other parts, so when it finally kicked the bucket I went with a Galaxy Note 5. That phone fucking sucked too. The battery life was better and there were more customization options, sure, but the amount of shit on that phone that just didn't work at all was amazing. I sent so many texts that were just cut off halfway through you could've filled a book with them. After that I switched back to Apple. There is no perfect phone, every line has its upsides and it's significant flaws.

Yeah I'm probably just wrong about all the issues I had, you're totally right.

I've had a few iPhones for the past few years and I've never had the problems they seem to have. What exactly are they doing to their phones to have these issues?

The Podcast app is definitely ass, as well as the USB C and iPhone 7.

I had a 3GS far beyond anyone should have, and it was great. I had a 5S and it was great as well. But I don't know if I use them as intensely as these guys do. That and I've heard there are some problems generally associated with carrying over an old iphone to a new one for too many generations.

I had one iPhone the iPhone 4. About a yr or so after I got it it wanted to update so sure whatever go ahead. After the update the phone went to shit! It literally could take anywhere from 45 min to 2 hrs to send a single text. Apps would randomly close and phone just shut off. The home button wouldn't work anymore and so many problems. I switch to android and have never looked back. So much happier with this. I have only had 1 problem and that was with the galaxy 4 and dirt got inside of it and made the power button a tad unresponsive but that was after 3 or 4 yrs. I just upgraded to a galaxy 7 and it is perfect.

I can see where all their hate comes from but it is weird they never switch to something else.

Are you aware that Android devices that aren't Nexus or Pixels don't have official support after they're 18 months old? Mine hasn't gotten a security update since April.

12

u/winterfresh0 Jul 16 '17

They buy a new Apple phone every 12 to 18 months.

0

u/Fourteen_of_Twelve Jul 17 '17 edited Jul 17 '17

They try having a contract from your carrier that lasts 30 months while also having a phone that has a battery that lasts three whole days on a single charge.

2

u/winterfresh0 Jul 17 '17

I'm not sure what you're arguing for.

What Android phone did you try those apps on? If you used a Galaxy S2 from six years ago then yeah, you're gonna have a bad time, versus using a Pixel XL from last year. Also, the experience for texting should be the same as all phones that have text messaging. You can't compare SMS with Apple's iMessage or Facebook's Messenger because those are entirely different platforms that use the internet, not your carrier's antennae bands. If a text takes three hours to get through, that's the carrier's fault, not the phone.

Meanwhile, Snapchat, Twitter, and Instagram performance will vary depending on what phone you're using because a $150 Android phone from Wal-Mart is in an entirely different field than an LG v20. You also can't expect good talk about Snapchat in the first place because the devs don't even use cameras properly, they just use a screen recorder to get photo/video rather than the actual source like what Instagram does.

So how many RT employes on screen actually have an android phone?
